Summary
My idea to tackle the big challenge is all about music.
In this day and age young people are influenced, inspired and empowered through all aspects of music production and i hope to provide them with the resources to be able to do this.
My community is an underprivelidged urban society that is not able to access these types of technology unless someone like myself finds the sufficent help and support, but this does not stop them from participating!
Many people of all ages (including myself) are involved in the growing music scene in Cardiff, showing suprising amounts of dedication and talent, but few have the ability to create what they dream!
I hope to address this issue by providing a facility that specialises in music production and gives the young people of my area a chance to "DREAM AND ACHIEVE" and a secure place to house their hobbies.

Summary
I plan to invite local Premier League football players to attend a football tournament which consists of teams from local schools. The teams would raise funds in their school and get sponsored by their local community to take part (although entry will be free). After taking part in the tournament there will be a questions and answers session with the Premiership players I would also invite football talent scouts would also be invited which I feel will also increase the effectiveness of the event. For the girls I would also use similar methods to promote a one day event. Participants would get the opportunity to spend a few hours in a local gym. Following the gym session the girls will be pampered by local beauty therapy college students, who would also help to answer any questions about such college courses.

Summary
I am a member of the Muslim community in Norwich. There is growing problem in our community where a group of boys, who initially came together to make music, are now being falsely labelled as a criminal gang.
Due to this false impression of the group there is now a real intensity between them, the Police and the wider community which has caused needless problems for our community as a whole.
We want to solve this problem before it's too late. By using positive music and media we aim to improve relationships, challenge stereotypes and bring the community back together.

Introduce a Success Seminar for young people which will empower and encourage young people and ex-offenders to achieve and become successful. The Seminar will give young people an opportunity to gain valuable information and advice to enhance their thoughts and mind into taking the right steps towards achieving and possibly becoming entrepreneurs and role models within their community. Only by believing in young people's hidden talents and developing skill base at all levels can we really hope to tap into this lost potential, The seminar will run during half-term and will encourage young people to discover their hidden talents.

Summary
Disunity in my community is premised on misunderstandings about each other, be it in terms of traditions, culture, age generations, or faith.
Combining a faith-based and human rights approach I want to train and develop the next generation of community leaders to critically engage with these prejudices, and tackle them through re-education. I want to neutralise the negative stereotypes of local 'groups' by using various media approaches, so that people can SEE we're all human, therefore all one community. The age-gap issues will be tackled by inter-generational activities to show that 'everyone was young' once- often facing very similar issues.

To produce a sports/dance/performing arts/fashion show all day event which would campaign to help promote safe sex, contraception and teenage pregnancy involving the community and the university students. I would be able to recruit a huge amount of volunteers and produce a show highlighting the effects of teenage pregnancy. Leicester has a higher rate of teenage pregnancy than the national average. Something needs to be done. With the money I would produce performances through the streets of the city local with students would get involved. Like nottinghill carnival but in Leicester telling the teenagers to enjoy their youth and celebrate and having children can be done when your older.

Every person on the planet is united by laundry... whether you live in New York, London, Kenya or Afghanistan – everyone needs to wash and dry their clothes. 'Hanging Our Planet Out To Dry' will show young people how washing and drying clothes has a significant environmental impact by creating an interactive web site focused on drying naturally vs. electric drying and the high carbon emissions it causes. The project will include a competition to encourage young people to upload comic content on innovative ways to wash and dry clothes, increasing participation and awareness.

Summary
My big idea to tackle the Big Challenge is to provide a youth-led support network for females aged 14-25 who have been victim of rape and sexual abuse.
Providing services such as a free-of-charge telephone helpline, where people can confidentially talk to fully trained youth volunteers /counselors to gain support and advice, will help deal with distress and difficulties they may consequently face. A counseling service will also enable individuals to speak on a one-to-one basis with counselors.

We have launched a student-led group called the 'Student International Relations Committee' made up of young people in school aged 13-18. Our aim is to promote awareness of cultural diversity, and actually give young people the opportunity to experience these cultures, via fun workshops which can also be enjoyed by parents, families and the local community, bringing people toegther to enjoy workshops, musical events, dance, drama, foreign languages lessons and more. We have very few ethnic minorities in school and in our town as a whole, and we hope to develop a stronger awareness of the advantages of a multi-cultural society.
