Summary

Food prices have soared over the last years, which hit the poorest very hard. Despite that avoidable food waste in the UK alone is 1/3 of the food we buy. This is worth £10bn a year and increases the demand and hence the price of food unnecessarily. Reducing the waste would have social, political, humanitarian and environmental benefits. This project is aimed at researching policies and campaigning for a tax on food waste, nationally and internationally. We believe that taxing food waste will reduce the waste without punishing those who do not waste! Help make a change to millions!
