Summary
We have launched a student-led group called the 'Student International Relations Committee' made up of young people in school aged 13-18. Our aim is to promote awareness of cultural diversity, and actually give young people the opportunity to experience these cultures, via fun workshops which can also be enjoyed by parents, families and the local community, bringing people toegther to enjoy workshops, musical events, dance, drama, foreign languages lessons and more. We have very few ethnic minorities in school and in our town as a whole, and we hope to develop a stronger awareness of the advantages of a multi-cultural society.
