Big Challenge 10 to launch in April

We are very excited to be able to tell you that Big Challenge is going to be open for applications under a new theme from the end of April 10. If you have an idea to make a change in your community and need some cash to make it happen then keep your eyes on our website for the launch date. UnLtd - the Foundation for Social Entrepreneurs - is a charitable organisation that wants to support and develop the role of social entrepreneurs as a force for positive change in the United Kingdom by providing awards to social entrepreneurs and researching into the impact of social entrepreneurs on society. UnLtd's Millennium Awards of between £500 and £20000 provide practical and financial support to social entrepreneurs in the UK; people with vision, passion, drive and commitment, who want to change the world for the better.

Young UnLtd - Building on the successes of current and previous youth programmes, Young UnLtd has been established to build the capacity of young social entrepreneurs as well as empower young people to be active in shaping the policies and decisions that affect their communities. Recognising the value and impact young people have in decision making and problems solving is what underpins the values of Young UnLtd. Young UnLtd will work to inform a new way in which communities and government bodies engage and collaborate with youth today.

Changemakers was founded in 1994 by a coalition of educationalists and NGOs and was an early champion of young people leading their own social action and change. They have influenced many of the key developments in education and youth policy over the past decade including the introduction of citizenship and enterprise education, the creation of youth volunteering body 'v' and 'Aiming High', the government's ten year youth strategy. Since 1994 more than 100,000 young people have participated in Changemakers programmes and hundreds of organisations have adopted their youth led philosophy and approach.

Changemakers Vision is of a society of passionate and engaged citizens, motivated and empowered to lead positive change in their communities. Their Mission is to work with young people aged 4-25 to stimulate enterprising minds, create active citizens, and inspire future leaders.

v is an independent charity championing youth volunteering in England. v exists to inspire a new generation of young volunteers (aged 16-25) in England and enable a lasting change in the quality, quantity and diversity of youth volunteering. v aims to create a culture where it is natural for young people to volunteer, and natural for organisations to support them in doing so, because the benefits of volunteering are widely understood and celebrated.
