Summary
My big idea for community unity is to organise a massive one day community event aimed at all families living in and around the Broomhall area of Sheffield.
I feel that currently within this area, there have been recent tensions largely based around the different cultures. My aim is to unite all cultures by providing activities from each culture represented within the community.
I would like to hire the services of an African drumming workshop or activity that is popular within the somalian community for example, that represents the country that it originates from. This will show that all countries have something special to offer to the local community and will emphasise how important it is for families to enjoy activities together regardless of background and ethnicity.

Interesting idea, would be an opportunity for people to be open minded and appreciate each others cultures and a fun family day out for the kids.

As a Sheffielder I am aware of the challenges that are faced by this community. An event of this kind would be a wonderful way to develop understanding and encourage community cohesion. Children and families having fun together would be a great way to celebrate diversity. Good luck with this worthwhile challenge!
