Summary

To provide young people with activities off the streets, where they have the freedom to explore their identities; be creative & get involved in making positive changes in the community. We will provide Street Dance, Street Art & Street Music classes over six days a week. Our classes will be diverse for all ages; abilities & backgrounds. We will have a YAPT; who will lead us and we adopt an anti crime & disorder, anti violence and anti gang culture message to aim to dissuade youths from continuing on the paths that some have started with knife crime, drugs & anti social behaviour.

Kez Salmon is very dedicated to this project which is obviously already making a big impact on the community, It would be a shame for all the hardwork which has already gone into RedYouth to have to end due to funding. i hope this project continues to be a success!

I love seeing children who live in Redruth mixing together and working as one team and as individuals.......most of them would otherwise never of met if it wasn't for 'REDYOUTH' due to many reasons, largely being their social and economic backgrounds, or simply attending different schools in the area. Redruth has had much bad press in recent times and i feel so pround of 'our children' for showing that with guideance, support and direction they are a generation to be proud of and if 'REDY

RedYOUth is so important to Redruth it's hard to explain! Our town is ignored by so many politicians and as a result has fallen into decline. There are no services for young people and as a result they have been given a bad name for allegedly "terrorising the streets" at night. Through Kez's vision, Redruth's young people have been given a fantastic opportunity to do something that they love, keep active and healthy, and possibly find themselves a future career. Winning this bid would give the n

Cornwall needs something like this to bring the young community together, and with Kerry leading the way, its a sure fire success as she is such a driven and motivated person!

What better way for keeping children and young people busy and happy. My son has been going for a while now and it would be a real shame to loose such a great asset to our town. A brilliant way to express feelings, channel energy and make lasting friendships.

This is such a wonderful group of young people, and a dedicated volunteer group of adults that they deserve to gain the funding they desperately need. The potential of every young person in this group is boundless and they should be afforded the right to express themselves, become proud of their community and their individuality.

Come on folks, support these kids - we're quick enough to blame them when something goes wrong, so how bout LOADs of support for those who are showing the adults that they WANT to do something positive with their time - and with FAB results!! Go Redyouth!!!

My daughter has spent a lot of time in hospital and lost her confidence.Since joining REDyouth her confidence is extremely high and she loves it. She even used her dancing skills to enter a competition on holiday and got through to the finals. Redruth is a deprived area and there is not much for young people to do so REDyouth is essential to the area and the level of commitment from the organizers is amazing.

A brilliant idea for an area that needs something badly! I am fully behind this idea and think it could prove to be the one thing our area needs to get 'back on it's feet' so the kids don't have to follow in the footsteps of previous wrong doers.

Kez and her associates have been working so hard to achieve all that they have so far. They have a long way to go to achieve their ongoing goals. Without Redyouth the crime rate across mid Cornwall would be much much higher and drug taking amongst youngsters would also be on the increase. Redyouth has given Cornish youngsters a sense of purpose and self worth. We need more people like Kez and her team across Cornwall and the rest of Britain. Redyouth need all the help they can get to provide the

I fully support this as Kez is doing a brillant job in working with young people, giving them skills and abilities that they would not otherwise have. Our young people are our future, we need to support them to make positive contributions to their community and raise their self-esteem.

12-Oct-2009 10.30PM   Garry Kay Says...

There are many youths in Redruth who are at a crossroads in life. They can follow their peers in a downward spiral of crime and anti-social behaviour or they can take advantage of people like Kez Salmon, who passionately believes that today's young people are good at heart and, if given an opportunity to express themselves in a creative and caring environment can flourish and become valued and fully integrated members of our socity. I wholeheartedly support this project and its committed leader.

Both of my daughter's are member's of RedYOUth and since they started I have seen they're self esteem and confidence grow no end. They really love going to the classes and are always saying what fun they have. Whilst there I know they are safe and amongst friends and above all off the streets.

Redruth has often been in the news locally and nationally for the wrong reasons. RedYOUth, started up in response to last year's curfew set on the town which made national news. I would like to thank RedYOUth for giving young people the opportunity to learn new skills and make new friends in a safe, friendly and enjoyable environment. All Kids deserve a bright future and RedYOUth gives them just that. Without RedYOUth these youngsters wouldn't have anywhere else to go. RedYOUth gives young peop

I think this project is a great facility for the kids in this area to have available.there is not much in this area for kids to do and we also get alot of bad press about young people. So for there to be somewhere kids can go and do somthing worth while is brilliant. My daughter has been there a while and it has given her more confidenceand she has made lots of friends and i know she is somewhere safe.I think that this project should be given the funding to keep going.

This is an amazing opportunity to provide the area in Cornwall that had the curfew imposed on it's young people last year, back together as a community, channelling energies otherwise wasted towards something fulfilling and offering the chance to turn around lives forever.
