Summary
I want to run a campaign against the negative media on young people alongside a group of young volunteers, to raise the awareness of the successes and achievements of young people today. The volunteers will travel around schools, community centres and visit various community and religious groups to run workshops and share their message – that young people are the future, whether some like it or not! I’d like every person in our community to contribute towards creating a better image of young people today. I want to create a magazine, which will be posted through every household door in Newham, which will feature successful young people’s stories including up and coming young artists, young academics and young athletes.

The truth about youth culture is that there are many difference youths doing lots of different things in society, but they are all judged by the mindless few.

I think that the idea you have put across is great. Hopefully when you have established yourself in Newham, please move over to Hackney. We need the same motivation you have in other areas. You definately have my vote!!

I agree that young people get a bad press, and it would be much better to focus on their achievements like this! Good luck with it Le!

There are far too many examples of how local and national media portray young people in a negative way.. so to challenge this in the way that you are suggesting is a great idea. Good luck with it..

There is way too much negativity surrounding adolescents. This is what all young people need, a platform to perform, to achieve, to strive for.
You have my full support and I wish you the very best with the project!

it is time to stop criticising the youth and downing them in negative media and perceptions otherwise we are only going to keep creating a bigger a divide and become more disengaged with them. We need to work as one and be more supportive of them.
Well done with this great idea Le and getting so far, good luck with the rest. You have my support!!

I think this is a very good idea and is for a very worthy cause.
Thank you for being sensitive to the issues faced by many young people and youth workers/learning mentors (such as myself) alike.
i am a firm believer in "it takes a village to raise a child" and i hope you're campaign/idea has a chance to develop into what seems to be a really important scheme.
Nice One Le.

I think initiatives like this are seriously needed in our capital. Le's vision seems simple, but it's one that is often overlooked. Especially when negative press is too easily shared in the media about young people- good luck Le!

I think this idea has a lot of potential especially now days, where young people are being portrayed negatively by the media. Highlighting the achievements of young people and the struggles that they face to succeed in today’s society will inspire and motivate communities, to take a notice and enforce them to make a change for our future generations. Well done you have my vote and keep up the good work.

I think this is the most amazing idea I have ever heard. This must happen for the future of humanity!!!
Children are the future. There's no two ways about it. If we don't show our appreciation for young achievers then there will be no incentive for betterness.
